What an interesting, fun-filled 4th of July weekend. The weekend included two nights of playing Street Fighter 4 till the sun started to rise and going to sleep with the sun up. AJ Papa, a video-journalist working at Get Your Tournament with me, and I met up at Arcade Infinity on Friday night. He was wondering where all the top Southern California Street Fighter players were that night, as he wanted to get some practice in before EVO but all he saw were just random gamers at AI. I mentioned to him that this weekend was Alex Valle’s Rush That Shit Down event, sort of like a Street Fighter bootcamp. After hearing that, we decided to go to PC Arena Lan Center to check out the action.
It turned out to the best decision of the night, a number of top players were at hand for RTSD including Alex Valle, Gootecks, Kai, and Megaman just to name a few. Street Fighter 4 action was intense and it was the first time I had to test out how my El Fuerte would play against other people. Which went something along the lines of, Gadouken, Super taunt, cancel into Ultra. Shglbmx kept landing that same combo with Dan to finish the rounds against me, I did take a rare set from him but I was eating that same combo with uncanny consistency. I probably should not be to concerned as I have less than a week’s worth of playtime with El Fuerte and still need to get the basics down first. The second day was much the same, though I did manage to get some Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix gaming into the mix as well.
All in all, one of more entertaining 4th of July holiday weekend for me. Unfortunately I was too busy playing games and forgot to take pictures, next time I won’t forget to take some times and snap some shots of the fun.
PC Arena Lan Center is located 104 N. Raymond Ave. Fullerton, CA 92831.

Beer. Pretzels. Friends. SF4. What more can you ask of a 4th of July weekend?

I liked the way the place was set up. And they had ST HDR. <3 I'll make sure to go back some time. It was fun to chill with everyone there.
